Original oil painting by Liz Vaughn. "King of The Paper Airplanes". Over the last several months I have been deep diving into abstract painting. I am so fascinated with the process. It is full of unexpected twists and turns, and sometimes complete failure. I started this particular piece as an abstract, and just couldn't really seem to pull it together (as you might notice in all the various creative stages I included here). I finally came to a mesh of abstract and figurative, which is where it sat for a month or so. Alas, I could not leave it alone and went back in for the famous "few touch-ups" I do love the way she finally came to her resting place, with eyes so crystal blue you feel like you could fall in.
