Original oil painting by Liz Vaughn. "Sonic Prayers". I spent a lot of time underpainting in this particular piece. I use acrylic paint to do this and find that I stumble onto some surprising effects in a push-pull kind of fashion. When things are not going as expected and you begin to take a layer off, the underpainting gives you a gift that you would not have created otherwise. It is so interesting to curate all the shapes and layers that craft this delicate narrative.
