Original oil painting by Liz Vaughn. "Figure 8's" was definitely a wild ride creatively. If you have been following my painting journey, you have witnessed a larger presence of abstract paintings starting in 2025. An artist friend said she views her work as a puzzle, which puts things in perspective perfectly. You have the skill and the tools, but sometimes a puzzle takes longer than expected, and in this case the outcome is far less predictable. That being said, I think that is why we keep coming back to document our journey as artists. One of my favorite parts of this painting in the lower right quadrant, any guesses?
