Original oil painting by Liz Vaughn. "Hunter of Mysteries". This year feels so different, so slow, so steady, and so deliberate. Pushing forward, yet allowing and encouraging what is necessary for expansion. You can't really measure these things in traditional metrics, somehow you just know. What this really means is that I am not rushing to finish a painting just to move on to a new painting. My process has always been to work on one piece at a time. Now I find myself waiting to see where the piece wants to reside and giving it the time and space to reveal that.
Last month I had the privilege of being invited to an intimate soundbath at Cosme Astrology. Before and after the soundbath you are invited to draw a tarot or oracle card to see what needs to be released, and what to welcome in. I feel like this piece is tied to that soundbath, representing the fragile beauty and mystery of existing.
Photos 2 and 3 are various stages in the creative process.
