Original oil painting by Liz Vaughn. "Intersecting Deities". This diptych might just be my favorite painting for 2026. And wow, was it a wild ride! There were so many phases in developing this figurative work, plenty of which had merit and were so worthy of keeping. That being said I felt like it wasn't cohesive visually and that the narrative definitely was not in synch. I just kept editing and revising the work, trying to remember that artistic risk is often rewarded with great results.
