Original oil painting by Liz Vaughn, "On Tiny Shoulders". I have always loved abstracting the human form, exaggerating the features, and making it expressive. This piece is no different, with tiny shoulders and an over sized head. This ambiguous figure might be found in a secluded corner of a book store, completely immersed in another world. Who doesn't love to read a good mystery novel?
As a footnote, I found it serendipitous that the pink flower painting (as seen in the second photo) made a fun companion piece. A perfect pairing to artfully accent any small space, or to gift a lover of art.
