Original oil painting by Liz Vaughn. "Prince or Pauper". I am often asked why my figurative work is centered around the feminine form and not the masculine. Admittedly, I feel that the feminine form is more fluid and malleable. She can be extravagantly adorned or simply portrayed with smudged lines and drop of color. With a nod of gratitude for the work that has carried me for so long, I present a masculine figure filled with the expressionism that I love so much. He is rich in character, and delightful in depth.
I have included a small video of the work in progress, as well as a the early stages of the creation process.
