Original oil painting by Liz Vaughn. "The Burden of Trinkets".   This year feels so different, so slow, so steady, and so deliberate. Pushing forward, yet allowing and encouraging what is necessary for expansion. You can't really measure these things in traditional metrics, somehow you just know.  What this really means is that I am not rushing to finish a painting just to move on to a new painting.  My process has always been to work on one piece at a time.  Now I find myself waiting to see where the piece wants to reside and giving it the time and space to reveal that.

Photos 3 -6 are various stages in the creative process, complete with a messy studio shot!
