Original oil painting by Liz Vaughn. "She's No Delicate Flower". The path to any successful painting, or a painting that stops in your tracks and takes your breath away, is an enigma. Plain and simple. We sort of know the formula, but the outcome still contains a great deal of mystery. I know I keep saying this, but transformation is absolutely magical. So, I'll keep trying this abstract thing until figurative work draws me back in. I hope you are enjoying the diversion, because I am definitely enjoying the wild ride!
I have included photos (2-6) of the creative process, including me with a surprise explosion of blue paint on my dress. And this is why artists can't have nice clothes!
